The 175 years old historic hotel has been of great inspiration to work with. Together with the 5th generation we made an atmosphere where you still feel the history, but with a contemporary classic twist based on the heritage.

We wanted the guests to feel welcome into this beautiful historic hotel. Through refurbishing most of the common areas, alongside the hotel rooms, we have created a warm, elegant atmosphere where people both can be social and feel at home.

DINING AREA

​

The whole dining area has been totally refurbished. The floor plan for this area was redesigned to obtain a more relaxed atmosphere and a better flow. Most of the seats where changed into more comfortable chairs and sofas. The dining area is so large so it was important to make several smaller groups. To make the main part of the dining area even more attractive I designed a huge chandelier "The Jewel". Read more about "The Jewel" here.

 

SEATING AREAS

All the seating areas in the hotel have been refurbished to obtain an up-to-date standard. Through careful area planning, a selection of comfortable furniture and a warm colour scheme we created a setting where people want to stay, connect and relax.

THE CORRIDORS

The corridors/staircases has been changed totally with customized carpet design together with customized wallpaper. Contemporary artwork made by a well known Norwegian artist was placed at every floor outside the lifts, to make each floor unique and recognizable for the guest.

ROOMS / SUITES

Many of the rooms have been upgraded to give the guests a great experience in this historic hotel. In each room you can experience a colour scheme that reflects the surrounding nature.
