The chandelier – The Jewel - is based on the history of the first generation running this hotel. The design reflects the top of the birch trees outside which was planted in the garden in front of the hotel over 170 years back. When the trees started to be too high and the guests started to complain about missing the view, they were cut down to half height.

My idea was to keep the history forever by bringing the top of the trees “ inside” as a huge chandelier - always shining in this hotel.

It has 27 hand blown glass bulbs of different sizes and the branches and the leaves are custom made in metal with a finish that reflects the old tree. The chandelier is made in London and Barcelona through high skilled craftmanship.
